Hey good fellas, I hope you guys are staying well! We are back with Ghost of Tsushima today as we aren't able to continue our Red Dead Redemption journey as of now. Sony has decided to remove the game from Playstation Extra game catalog, so unless we buy the game in a sale, we aren't playing it. I would 100% get the game on the next sale so bear with me. We will have an amazing time again once we get it. For now, we have started our journey as the last samurai playing Ghost of Tsushima.

I have always been obsessed with the way of the samurais. The honor and the way they take a stand for what they believe is something we hardly see in any culture. It almost sounds so arrogant of them sometimes, but their sheer respect for their system and their love for the katana is something I have always thrived for. If I could choose how I would like to be born, I would wish to become a samurai, no cap!

We started the Ghost of Tsushima journey with an opening of war where our main protagonist Jin goes to war with his uncle and other samurais total of 80, who faced Mongols in the battle of Tsushima. The different historical article suggests the game is based on true stories, which gives me goosebumps now that I again think of the battlefield portrayed by Sucker punch studios in the game.

This was the prologue part of the game, where we got a glimpse of the basics of the game. I was again struggling with the layout as I'm totally used to the dark souls' layout for the controls. Here we didn't get the victory and lost our uncle. Jin was saved by a thief named Yuna for her own personal reasons. The start of the game was dynamic and tied with the gameplay mechanics; we started learning about different basics of sneaking and trespassing. Also, Jin was not in the best shape as no armor was available, just his regular traveler's attire. Not even the swords were there. Yuna finds us later on the verge of trouble, leading us to get our sword back. This is where we learn she is a thief.

The environment design is so dynamic. I love how the game visuals offer a dark and gritty setup while at the same time being so colorful. Who doesn't like beautiful colors? There are moments where I can't see anything inside a settlement, but I don't even mind too much as it's screaming realism and aesthetics all the time. There are well-thought-out hiding spots with tall grass and nicely placed small opt-ins below different settlements to be sneaky, promoting different kinds of playstyles! Whatever suits you! I love when a game increases my playability. I always love coming to a game to experience a different playstyle and get the feel of every choice I make.

The past memories in the game mostly serve as tutorial points which is a very clever way to put tutorials of different elements without making them boring! Even for medium settings for the difficulty, this game can get tricky to deal with. Without the right combination of dodge and parry, one can repeatedly feel pathetic dying in the same situation. I would be lying if I didn't admit I felt the same way at certain points. There are different classes of enemies who wield different types of weapons! Some have spears, some dual swords, others with the bow (the most pathetic class of all), etc. When you feel confident about fighting many enemies, there will be an arrow in your head.

I love the photo mode in this game. You can spend a lot of time just tuning and getting creative to get the perfect shot! There are so many options available, starting from Focal Length, Roll, Depth of Field, Focus Distance, Color Grading(basically, filters), Exposure Bias, Particles(My personal favorite), Winds!, wind direction, time of the day, weather, animated environment (You can create a very dynamic theme where Jin is just standing still and everything is moving), Face expressions (You can make the protagonist pout, if you are into something like that, lmao) Stickers and many more! I highly recommend creative people check out this mode to get super creative!

In this playthrough, we learned much about Jin's past life, his father and uncle's death, and how he is honored in society for being a samurai. Also, it looks like he's from the upper class of society, where his family is respected. I believe his father was a samurai clan leader. We will learn more about this as the story progresses. I hope you will stick with me to learn more about Ghost of Tsushima as we play through this.
