The White Lotus S3E1 “Same Spirits, New Forms” Breakdown Recap & Review *SPOILERS*
So … I have a complicated relationship with this show. I didn’t think S1 was all that great. Everyone else seemed to like it way more than I did, and I didn’t find those characters as interesting to watch as everyone else seemed to … and that’s putting it lightly.
S2 was significantly better than me.
I thought the characters were far more interesting and I enjoyed the relationship dynamics at play, as well as the commentary on class from that season. S2 made my Top 10, I believe. This show routinely gets off to a slow start because it has to introduce you to all these characters and help you understand who they are and their issues … but I just didn’t think this episode was very good. I didn’t think it was bad, I just needed it to give me MORE. I’m not really bought in on anything they set up because I feel like they didn’t give me enough of anything to make me go “Ooh, I wanna see more of THAT.” It was entirely setup, the setup was only mildly interesting, and it didn’t stray far enough away from setup to make me like the episode. Check out my thoughts, leave your own, and remember to rate/comment/subscribe/share and ENJOY!
