We play as Geralt of Rivia, a Witcher who combines the skills of mage and swordsman in order to kill monsters and lift curses for the right price! Trained as a child, Witchers are mutants, surviving the trial of the grasses in which few are able to handle the potent toxins they consume and enduring the training of the Gauntlet they are reborn with cat like eyes, depigmented hair and infertility. The plus side, they are more resistant to poisons, immune to disease, are able to see in the dark and have lighting sharp reflexes. They are also able to consume the Witcher's famous mutagens, highly toxic potions that further develop their already super human abilities. Witcher's are also social outcasts, people fear what they don't understand and so common understanding of Witchers is a misunderstanding. They are needed to protect the lives of people from monsters but are still tolerated at best.
However not everything human looking is innocent and not everything monstrous looking is evil and the world of the Witcher is a morally grey one to put it lightly. There is no obvious good, no obvious evil. Only actions and consequences. What path will we take? What story will we tell?
