THE WITCHER Season 2 Release Pushed to Late 2021 due to filming delays | Plot details & cast info
Hey, guys! As you probably know, Netflix has already renewed their action and adventure fantasy drama series The Witcher for Season 2. In fact, the show has been picked up for the second season even before it debuted in December 2019. Now, a bit of bad news. The production of Season 2, which started, as planned, in London in February 2020, was shut down in early March due to coronavirus concerns. Originally, filming was scheduled to take six months, from February to August of 2020. With the new coronavirus situation, once resumed in July with new precautions and guidelines in place, production will now take 9 months not counting the break, and will extend to the middle of 2021. This means that Season 2 of The Witcher will not be released until the second half of 2021. Stay patient, guys. This is all we can say for now. Netflix is staying tight-lipped about Season 2 plot details, but we’ve learned that new episodes will first cover the rest of the Sword of Destiny short story by Andrzej Sapkowski, and then move on to the first book of his The Witcher Saga, Blood of Elves. Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan are all confirmed to return for Season 2 of The Witcher. By the way, who is your favorite character on the show? Share with us in the comments!
