4Truly, this is how a roguelike should be played: at the pace of a madman and the cunning of one, too. You can 100% things if you feel like it, but most of 'em are made to be beatable without killing absolutely everything. Usually I like to get everything done, but here, it seems like a better idea to plow down the enemies between you and the stairs and little else. Certainly it provides a better pacing!
