The Last Stand is also a DLC campaign and alternative what-if storyline ending to Death Toll in previous game. This place start in Boathouse Finale in Death Toll, the original story the survivors will pick the straight path but The Last Stand is what if they choose another path from the Boathouse.
The survivors reach the unnamed village in Riverside area, and then they figure the way to survive is go to the lighthouse and light the beacon to call the boat.

Why I call this the worst scenario? Because there's a theory that said if this what-if scenario will lead the survivor into their death (Small chance to call help, what if there's no boat around that hear the horn or see the lighthouse beacon?)
And if all original survivor die, the L4D2 survivors will stuck in The Passing campaign because the bridge is not lowered and if they try to lower the bridge from the other side, they probably will face the same fate in The Sacrifice story.
