Presented by Thomas Mäder virtually at TheiaCon 2024.

For years, Theia was not an IDE you could just download and run. Instead, adopters would use it as a library to make their own special purpose IDE products. That changed earlier this year: we released Theia IDE as a downloadable product for end-users.

Discover what was behind this move and what was necessary to get to the 1.0 release. Learn how we produce each version and how we determine what goes into it. Let's examine the success of the project so far and what we want to achieve in the future.
