I've seen these Eluteng mSATA adapters recommended on the Unraid forums and discord as a possible replacement to SanDisk USB flash devices due to SanDisk having duplicate GUIDs.

I tested 6 of these adapters and all of them had the same GUID/Serial number.
The Story
I received one three weeks ago and was surprised to find out after installing Unraid and booting for the first time, that the device was already blacklisted. Weird, I thought. After receiving two more of these devices about a week later, I again tried to install Unraid but the adapters both had the same GUID.
I assumed that perhaps my Mac and/or my USBC to USB dongle, were somehow transplanting a GUID onto the flash memory of the mSATA to USB adapter. With this new knowledge I then decided to order 3 more of these adapters. Another week passed for them to arrive and to my surprise all 3 had the same GUID. But this time, instead of using the adapter, I plugged one of them into a Windows 10 laptop and another into a Windows 11 Desktop PC. Both showed the same Serial/GUID.
On the 6th and final attempt I whipped out a very old miniPC that had CentOS 7 installed, slapped the last of the adapters onto it and.... lsblk revealed to me the same exact GUID.
Some Adapters Work
Allegedly both Unraid developers and some users have these adapters and they have unique GUIDs. It's possible that they have a different "batch" of adapters than the ones I got and that is why they are not having issues. That's great for them but if I ordered 6 over the course of three weeks or so and none of them were unique, what are the odds that the next person who purchases one will be unique?
Personally it's not worth the risk, time, or money to discover that these devices are not an option.
Why this matters
Unraid relies on associating your License with the GUID/Serial of the USB device. If your USB device dies for whatever reason and you attempt to replace it with the same or similar model/brand; then there is a chance that the GUID of your dead USB device can be the same as the new replacement one. If this happens that brand new shiny USB device will be blacklisted and you will be unable to use it with your current license. This is becoming an issue as potentially counterfeit or poor manufacturing practices are leading to an abundance of duplicate GUIDs for new and current Unraid users.
