They Are Coming Zombie Defense is a surprisingly well made (and fun) free pixel based defense shooter.
Now, like most mobile games it does have mandatory ads but they are relatively limited and logical in their placement. For example, in between a certain number of levels you have to view an ad (but itβs relatively short), and when you die you have to view an ad, but it doesnβt throw ads at you every second.
The graphics are simple pixel art but the characters are well animated and the deformation of the zombies when you damage them is well done.
The audio is simple but effective and does the job without being annoying.
The gameplay is well executed as well, with wave-based hordes of zombies, and a rogue-like upgrade loop that seems both fun and fair.
Overall the game is definitely worth a look for anyone looking to kill some pixel based zombies in their free time (or during that remote conference call you are stuck in).
I give it π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ 4 out of 5 zombies.
