711The Elder Scrolls Oblivion: Knights of the Nine Episode 2 - Shrine of the Crusader
After completing the divines Pilgrimage, at the behest of the prophet in Anvil, we receive a vision. Upon praying at the final wayshrine, we will find ourselves transported to the skies above the Imperial City, appearing before the Divine Crusader, Pelinal Whitestrake, who reveals more details about himself and Umaril, and how Umaril has returned.
Because of Umaril's alliance with Meridia, when struck down, rather than being killed, Umaril's spirit is returned to the waters of Oblivion to slowly regain his strength and return once more. The only way to defeat Umaril once and for all, he explains, is to reclaim all of the relics and seek the Nine's aid. Although he does not know of the relics' current whereabouts, as they have exchanged hands many times since his death, Whitesrake does have a guess as to where one could be. He suggests searching his lost shrine, the Ayleid ruin Vanua, which is where he last saw the Helm of the Crusader. Because the ruin is well off the beaten path and guarded by numerous beasts, Pelinal is fairly certain the Helm has not yet been retrieved and is still there. If nothing else, the shrine may provide a few clues as to how to proceed.
Before we leave for the shrine, we speak to Sir roderic again: If we claim that we already finished our pilgrimage, receiving a vision of Saint Pelinal for completing this task, will have him congratulate you on this feat; "Indeed? You are most fortunate! I pray that I too may be worthy to receive such a divine command. Meanwhile, I will continue on my own pilgrimage. Fare thee well, my friend." And so we bid Sir roderic farewell
And No sooner than we are released from the vision our journal also update saying: Upon completing my pilgrimage to the wayshrines, I received a vision from the Divine Crusader, Pelinal Whitestrake. He revealed the location of his lost shrine, which is where I should begin my quest for the Relics of the Crusader., and a map marker points to Vanua's location. We are also made a member of the Knights of the Nine faction, with the rank Knight Errant.

Ironically or perhaps by divine design we pass
Fort Alessia, named after the who liberated the men of Cyrodiil from slavery of Aylieds with the aid of Pelinal Whitestrake
the location (also known as Castle Alessia) is a ruined military fort located on the Red Ring Road, southeast of the Imperial City in the Great Forest of Cyrodiil It can be assumed that the fort was named in her honor
as The fort is located just east of the Ayleid ruins of Sardavar Leed, where Saint Alessia was raised as a slave. Now occupied by local marauders
we take it upon ourselves as a Knight errant to liberate the stronghold in Saint Alessias name
Crossing the large red ring road bridge from the red ring road we look to see any signs of the Aylied fort Vanua, Pelinal Spoke of to no avail. Momentarily caught off guard drinking in the majesty of the imperial city as we cross the bridge we are met by an ill tempered Khajiit bandit, who threatens.
Although we can refuse to pay the Khajiit, opting to slay the cowardly cat where he stands
Interestingly, if we instead pay the 100 gold he responds.
Usually, if not on this sacred quest, after paying him he would simply reply
But due to the rumors swirling around cyrodiil we can learn more about the prophet by him saying...
Let's call the 100 gold reparations, for Pelinal mistaking the Khajiit for Elves in his own bloody crusade.
Peering over the side of the bridge, we are confused the ruin Vanua still remains undetected. Yet Pelinal claimed this is where he was slain ages ago.
After receiving Pelinal's vision to start this quest, the game decides whether you will receive the light or heavy versions of the crusader's relics. If your Light Armor skill is higher than your Heavy Armor skill at this point you will receive light armor versions of all armor pieces, otherwise you get all heavy armor versions.
