From the makers of 1995 six-degrees-of-freedom (6DOF) game descent, see how Overload gameplay is heavily inspired by the original, but polished for the modern world. Overload gameplay retains the original's groundbreaking way of being able to turn your spaceship in any direction - with levels taking full advantage of this - and adds new weapons and generally new slickness.
Our Overload gameplay video plays the pre-alpha playable teaser, put out at the end of the Overload Kickstarter, with a Destroy the Reactor playthrough, the example level. The demo also contains a challenge mode and a practice mode. There's also a VR version of the demo!

"In 2014, after years of talking about it, we began working on Overload. The core objective with the game is to take elements of classic 6-DOF shooters and use modern technology to push Overload to a whole new level.
Many 3D action games have four to five degrees of freedom in their motion controls. A six-degree-of-freedom shooter gives you controls for all 3 axes of rotation and all 3 axes of movement. While this creates complexity for moving and controlling the player’s character, the reward is an experience unlike any other.
The primary objective in classic 6-DOF shooters was simple: Find the reactor, destroy it, and escape. Carrying out your objective is where the true essence of the game lay, and that’s what we’re focusing on with Overload. Each level will be full of gameplay reasons to move and look and shoot all around you."
