This Action Roguelike Has No Business Being The Fun
32I went into Godbreakers thinking it would be another typical roguelike. You know the type. Tough enemies, repeat runs, a lot of frustration mixed with a little progress. But the second I started playing, I realized this one feels completely different. The combat is fast, smooth, and responsive. Every dodge and combo feels good, and then the game drops the Godbreak mechanic on you where you steal enemy powers mid fight. That single system changes everything and makes each run feel unpredictable in the best way.
What really hooked me is how fun it is to experiment. Roguelikes can sometimes feel like a grind, but here I actually wanted to keep testing builds and pushing further. The enemy variety is solid, bosses demand focus, and the chaos of absorbing new abilities on the fly makes each fight feel fresh. It nails that addictive loop that keeps you saying “just one more run.”
And if solo play wasn’t enough, co-op takes it to another level. Teaming up with friends turns the game into pure madness. You’re coordinating powers, trying out builds, shouting when things go wrong, and laughing when it all comes together. It reminded me of why this genre is so fun in the first place.
