FASTEST 4TB USB4 External Storage SSD for Your Mac on a BUDGET and how to build it.
Do you want a fast 4TB USB4 Thunderbolt 4 compatible external SSD storage drive for your Mac but you're on a tight budget? Well in this video I show you the cheapest build that I have come up with so far.
This build consists of the Orico O7000 4TB Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD and the Fideco MT402 USB4 40Gbps SSD enclosure, which is compatible with Thunderbolt 4. And while this is the cheapest 4TB USB4/Thunderbolt 4 SSD that I have built so far, it is also one of the fastest especially for its real world read speed.
QUICK NOTE:
I have seen a number of negative reviews about the Fideco enclosure on Amazon, with people complaining about SSD compatibility and slow speeds. However and as you can clearly see in this video this enclosure paired with the Orico SSD works extremely well on my M4 Max MacBook Pro. I haven't a clue how the enclosure performs with other SSDs, as I have only used it with the Orico. I also don't know how the enclosure performs on Windows or any other OS, platform other than macOS and Apple Silicon.
