With the release of 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' and the change to peer-2-peer matchmaking my aggressive gameplay style that I had played with up until that point (for example in 'Call of Duty 4' and 'World at War') just wasn't as effective anymore, for a multitude of reasons.
Throughout the years since then I have developed a more passive and defensive playstyle, meaning I'm mostly reacting to the action of others, instead of acting outright.

However with the release of 'Titanfall 2' things have changed a bit. In Respawn's second game I'm able to be much more aggressive and on the offensive than I had been in a long time.
Overall I'd say that playing Titanfall 2 against other players has helped me to be better at most shooters.

And I actually had quite a bit of fun playing the current 'Call of Duty: World War 2' open beta in a playstyle similarly to my old one, although not quite as reckless.
Getting a "Bronze Star", 'World War 2's match highlight reel, feels pretty good!

This video isn't here to brag as I don't think it shows anything particularly exciting or "great", but I wanted to upload it as a personal achievement of sorts.
Just seeing me improving over these last few months is a really cool feeling!

Regarding the game I'm not quite sure yet.
It feels fun playing a Call of Duty again without any jump boosts and weird sticky wallrunning.
But this in turn makes it seem a bit barebones, at least from the content that is presented in this beta. I sincerely hope the game has more to offer regarding weapons and equipment, which I feel are severely lacking in variety.
Maps also seem a bit of a problem. Some of the weapon types aren't useful at all, while (of course, to nobody's surprise), SMGs are still king, with assault rifles following shortly thereafter.
The game somewhat harks back to simpler styles of Call of Duty 4 and World at War with some of the changes, but is again much, much faster, which I'd mostly attribute to the maps (just like it was in 'Advanced Warfare').
Visuals and sounds are however absolutely fantastic and it's insane how well games can look nowadays! I especially like the wider implementation of temporal anti-aliasing to provide a smoother picture!
Performance overall seems fine on my machine, especially for the visual fidelity.
I did however lower some settings after a couple of matches to always get minimum 60fps.
Everything at max settings did at times lead to dips down to 40.
The map 'Aachen' also seems to run a whole lot worse than the other ones, while not seeming that impressive. Maybe it's an occlusion "problem", regarding the view distance.

Overall it is still Call of Duty and that's precisely why I won't be buying it. It feels too similar to the older games (pre AW) and "looks" more like a visual upgrade to modern graphics.
If the game has better maps and way more weapons and equipment in its release version, I could actually think about getting it, but I'm also not able to buy just the multiplayer portion of the game, so there's that.

Finally I'm still somewhat testing the waters again with recording. I have hours of footage on my hard drive, but OBS had some really weird problems recording after an update and before that syncing problems have really turned me off doing anything video-related.
And while the syncing problems seems to still exist (by now I doubt that it's fixable on my current setup, if at all), I can at least record again I think.
So hopefully more videos in the near future and hopefully some more scripted/edited stuff, too!
