Seeing improvements after a skill stagnation feels great! | Scout gameplay | Battlefield 1
0What you're seeing here is gameplay of me playing the Scout class in Battlefield 1's Grand Operation mode. I'm on the attacking side and the point where the video starts my team and I have one set of flags left to capture until we win.
I'm using the Mosin-Nagant with ironsights, accompanied by one of the revolvers as a sidearm.
It's what I like to do the most in Battlefield games since 3, aggressive recon, middle to close range.
It's exciting. It's risky, but rewarding.

For years I thought that would be it, regarding how well I could play first person shooters, despite playing them a lot. It always seemed like there was something missing when playing against other players, be it strategy, reaction time or weapon handling. I felt like this would be it. It would all be downhill from here on out.
I was wrong.
When I bought Battlefield 1 last year, in the wake of Battlefield V's release, I was trying to do more to improve. I started to think about my traversal through the map again, where players were located, where they could be located, what range my weapon would work better at, etc. I was noticing that I was getting better, living longer during matches, being more accurate and landing more shots.
And honestly, this has been a great experience this last few months.
Games could make this whole process still a lot better by giving me more information around my performance, for example landed shots on enemy that killed me, where their shots hit on my body, etc, but I'm doing what I can.
This video somewhat shows the fruits of this improvement.
But honestly I just really liked how I had played here.
It isn't an insane killstreak or something, but I'm proud of how I fared in this match.
