So yeah....not even past the first couple of chapters and I'm already calling it quits...Either the Game Developers are a bunch of sadistic trolls or they were dead serious at creating a literal "survival horror"experience(more like an ordeal)...I initially thought this was the usual or typical game that might be a bit "challenging"but mainly manageable or easy enough to eventually get through but as always,I was wrong...Based on what I heard about the blocking/dodging mechanics and how "simple"it is...what's not first mentioned is that in "theory" it is or SOUNDS simple(just hold left stick,either left or right and aLtErNaTe BrO)but what later becomes painfully apparent(no pun intended and yes this game looks and feels absolutely painful and horrific) is that implementing said"theory" by dodging via holding the left stick has to be timed "strategically" and most of all,PERFECTLY...even a half millisecond late and your character will sustain damage...running and retreating is almost non existent,it's very difficult turning the main protaganist around(quickly enough due to a lack of a quick turn function,yeah thanks alot devs) in order to either find cover or to gain some space when being surrounded or overwhelmed by multiple hostiles that are literally trying to rip you into pieces...you are basically forced to immediately deal with and hopefully dispatch your immediate threats right then and there...everything really has to be planned ahead and well thought out beforehand which is impossible,atleast if it's your first playthrough...because the game just LOVES surprising you with jumpscares and tries to be unpredictable etc it's definately one of those YoU GoTtA GiTgUd BrO kind of effin games(yeah I can already hear all those elitist arrogant trolls mocking people that aren't as good as they are at these kinds of games)Anyways,as far as I can tell,this game seems to be a combination of Dead Space(obviously) The Last of Us and.....Sekiro(but instead of rhythmic blocking,it's dodging) and speaking of "rhythm",that's the best way to describe the combat and how to survive,strategic aggressive tactics with a heavy focus on dodging through a certain flow,tempo...pattern etc It's like a nasty brutal violent dance of sheer death and gore that you better memorize and GeT GuD At or you...like me...won't survive or even be able to get past the first few chapters...Enjoy the video,especially of hearing me going into some cringe inducing rages,I don't know if I'll play this again especially recording the gameplay,I'm going to have alot of practicing to do beforehand and honestly?I play games to escape reality and to genuinely have fun,not get pissed off and brood the rest of the day or evening(I already have enough anger and mental issues lol) etc Maybe I'll just stick to VR games and modding etc...who knows,which sucks because I was really looking forward to this game...and the visuals,graphical fidelity,the lighting etc are absolutely stunning...yeah,I'm going to just practice alot from now on,wish me luck! FYI apologies to Glen Schofield for saying"fck you"lol my bad,I was just frustrated...
