My thoughts, condensed as much as I humanly could. Please do read the description --

Brief aside: I am aware sites exist that offer similar content for free. The legitimacy of these is dubious and likely to deteriorate as time goes by. However, this solves nothing and the easier alternative (i.e., Marketplace) will almost always dominate. When you ask a child what they want, what will they say? "I just want it. Buy it for me." They will not frantically search for a more complex way to get such content. Microsoft will likely not be a proponent for these "external websites". What will they advertise? Something that makes them money, or something that doesn't?

-----------
DESCRIPTION
The future of "Minecraft: Java Edition" is likely to vanish into a commercial outcome that is the true version of "Minecraft". Via goals of unifying other platforms, our "original Minecraft" game may be no more than insignificant due to Microsoft's corporate influence. If they become more and more geared towards a revenue generating scheme, the Java edition is unlikely to coincide or at best survive in the future even if it continues to get updated. At the moment, nevertheless, there is plenty of backlash from the community by which I stand.

While I do not wish to speak primarily in superlatives, I do want to clarify one other point - the use of the word "abandon". I expect there will be comments pointing out that there has been no abandonment and there will never be. Ask yourselves before you do comment: where do Microsoft's (the majority shareholder) priorities lie? Where can they reap the most benefits, and likewise, what is in their best interests? Will Microsoft respect the wishes of the Mojang employees? Even if the Java edition continues to receive updates, how will they compare in practice relative to other editions?

I welcome any discussion, but please do attempt to watch this video in full. For those who did not follow the livestream (https://youtu.be/Ys1H16KMPLU?t=37m14s), I at first thought this was merely a name change. After taking the time to assess the whole of the circumstances, including after the livestream, I formulated my thoughts in this video. Thanks!
