While I was looking for usb drive adapters to include in this video    • How to image, restore and clone drive...   about drive imaging I stumbled on something that seemed impossible. A usb-c sata 6 adapter for 3.99 and although I didn't include it as one of the ones linked there(It seemed too good to be true and I wanted to recommend things I knew would work) I went ahead and ordered one for my own curiosity. Guess what.... It works!
