The Tale of Onogoro is a stunning new Quest 2 game that throws players into a beautiful VR anime world and tasks them with solving puzzles & defeating huge boss creatures whilst working alongside a VR anime girl companion. Much like Ico and last years Mare, Tale of Onogoro is a game built around the bond you build with your companion, solving puzzles and progressing the story is only possible if you work together and thanks to the crisp visuals and solid voice work you'll feel connected to this NPC in no time. In an extremely simplified sense this is a long escort mission that takes place entirely in VR and is built around puzzle mechanics & thrilling boss fights, if that sounds like your kind of game the The Tale of Onogoro is well worth checking out.

There are a tonne of new Quest 2 games / new VR games out today (Alvo, Mare for PC VR, Startenders, Outlier) but it was The Tale of Onogoro that really caught my attention, I'm usually drawn to the more unique titles and something about this one won me over. I'm glad to report that this new Quest 2 game is very polished and comes with a solid suite of control/accessibility option. Seated of standing, smooth or snap, teleport or locomotion, height adjustment, head or hand based movement... the list goes on and it's great to see a new VR game launch in such a great place on the back of a few ropey releases recently. If you're a fan of VR puzzle games, don't mind a tonne of dialogue and want to take on some incredible boss fights in VR then The Tale of Onogoro might just be the right game for you.
