VR Painting is HARD... Can I paint a VR MASTERPIECE from memory? // New Quest 2 Gameplay
385I tried to paint three well known pieces of art in the brand new Quest 2 game Vermillion and found out the hard way that VR painting is HARD! However Vermillion VR might be one of the very best VR applications I've played in a long time, a product so tightly put together & laser focused on what it wants to achieve that even people like me with little to no painting skill can jump in & create something amazing with no fear of making permanent mistakes or ruining an expensive canvas. The feeling of painting in VR is beautiful in this new Quest 2 title, each brush stroke giving subtle vibrations and paint that blends together naturally if you mix colours or coat it on a little too thick. This is a VR application everyone who's enthusiastic about VR tech should try, a relaxing escape that promotes creativity even if like me you're devoid of much real skill...
The idea of this VR challenge was to paint the Mona Lisa, The Scream & American Gothic all from memory within the native Vermillion Quest 2 release, I looked at the pictures once each briefly before loading into the headset & then tried to recreate them all as quickly as possible whilst painting from memory... it was much harder than I thought it would be! It's not often that I set myself goals or create VR challenge video ideas like this but I'd love to do more (even if they turn into VR fails) so please do drop some comments down below with ideas of other VR challenge videos I could attempt in the future. All the Vermillion VR gameplay in this video was captured on the Quest 2 and is representative of native Vermillion Quest 2 gameplay.
