Today I stumbled across a new Quest 2 game on App Lab, a creepy looking VR horror game with an unusually high price point... I decided I needed to do some research & check this one out! Cursed Night The House is a janky little VR horror game with a HIGH price (£10.99), it's actually a game that's existed for quite some time across various VR storefronts (Oculus Go, PC VR etc...) but it's now had a little makeover and arrived on the Quest 2. I went into this one fully expecting to encounter a pretty terrible VR experience but what I didn't expect were VR jumpscares that almost drove my skeleton out of my body. This isn't the scariest VR game / scariest Quest 2 game I've ever played but DAMN did it manage to rattle me on more than one occassion. Ultimately though it's almost impossible to recommend based on it's high price point which is actually a real shame because for a couple of quid this could've been a great little horror title to jump into!

The Quest 2 horror genre is jam packed with great games so competition is stiff, titles like Layers of Fear, Exorcist & Walking Dead Saints & Sinners all exist on the platform so to release a new Quest 2 game in the horror genre you really need to get the pricing right if you want it to be a success. When you consider Rec Room & VR Chat both offer fantastic FREE VR horror games built within their own engines then it makes the £10.99 asking price for Cursed Night The House even crazier. It's a shame I can't recommend this one to players looking for a new VR game / new Quest 2 game to scratch that spooky itch but I hope you enjoy watching me lose my mind as I endure VR jumpscare after VR jumpscare!
