Dang, Mint's super cute.
Please note that this is segmented and edited. Even though this is primarily a 3D game, widescreen hacks cause parts of the menus and UI to break, so I’m not using it. It’s a shame because this is actually a really good looking 3D PS1 game.
Notes
At each stage of the game, you can find various coins placed in the game world. Collecting these isn’t related to any kind of event or unlock, but rather serve as extra lives and vendor fodder. I don’t collect them all as a result.
In order to pass the three ice blocks in Underground Ruins, the player is required to grind MP. Spending MP and hitting enemies with spells is what causes you to gain MP, not the damage dealt or even the cost itself. Hence, I intentionally sit there and spam Vulcan even though it only does 1 damage because it is the most efficient way to gain MP.
In Mel’s Atelier, you are required to play the three mini-games. The reward for meeting the high score is just a silver coin and so, I don’t bother seriously attempting it. Really dislike this section.
The chest I skipped in Gamul Forest contains the Brooch. It can be given to the bartender in Carona to get a discount on a full MP restore… but you can just slap enemies and fill your bar pretty quickly.
The legendary items are related to optional stuff with no story impact.
For the Cannon Orb you have to buy, if you ‘put on an act’ you can get it for only 5k but I liked the scene if you try to steal it more and it felt more like something Mint would try to do given the choices.
