Just a simple fan noise test for three different Thunderbolt 5 80Gbps SSD enclosures for your Mac. The enclosures being tested are the original ACASIS TB501, the current ACASIS TB501 Pro and the soon to be released ACASIS TB501 Pro which is going to be compatible with PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs.
While I use the Thunderbolt 5 M4 Max MacBook Pro. The ACASIS Thunderbolt 5 80Gbps SSD enclosures are backward compatible with all Apple Silicon Mac computers using Thunderbolt 4, such as the Mac mini, MacBook Air, Mac Studio etc. The speed will just be 40Gb/s on the Thunderbolt 4 Macs.
Keep an eye on my channel as I will do a video as soon as the new version of the TB501 Pro is released to let people know that it has been released. Which should be some time later this month, August 2025.

However, if you are looking to buy an ACASIS Thunderbolt 5 80Gb/s SSD enclosure, I would recommend waiting until the new version of the TB501 Pro is released. As this will be compatible with PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs. So even if you only plan on using a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD, because they are currently way better value for money. If you do wait for the new TB501 Pro, then you will at least have the option to use PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs once the prices start becoming more reasonable.
