Tidal Blades Banner Festival from Druid City games takes trick taking to a whole new level. This game has such strategic gameplay that was easy enough for our 9 and 12 year olds to pick up with no problems, but creates incredibly strategic choices throughout the entire game. Something we love about Banner Festival is that no matter where you land in the round - win, lose, or somewhere in the middle, you still have ways to score and improve your positioning in the game.
In a standard turn of Banner Festival, each player picks a card to play, but the strength of each color is determined by where you are on the tidal Blades Banner Festival board. The winner of each round gets to move their watercraft to the next trade gate, while the loser of the round gets to pick where the trade gate is the next round. And the players in the middle get to place one of their banners at the docks, which may award them fruit and help them score majority points at the end of each round. There is so much strategy in Tidal Blades Banner Festival, and we love that no matter what happens, you still get to do something with your turn. Even if you're just culling weak cards from your hand, you still have the chance to do something to improve your position. Generate the most profits for your trading house by selling goods, befriending the right suppliers, and making bets at the watercraft race. Opportunities abound in the floating market, but only the keenest trader will prevail!
Each turn, aim to play the highest, mid, or lowest Merchandise card to unlock different actions.
Utilize multi-use cards in dynamic trick-taking bouts to gain an advantage over your rival merchants.
