Time Capsule by Michelle Oui
Anew is an interactive project which repurposed obsolete items into timepieces by intergrating digital technology in this case Arduino is utilized. Film was chosen as the kick starter of the series. The reason it stands out among the current DIY repurposed timepieces in the market is its unique and unconventional way of visualising time by analysing the original characteristic of a film. Instead of using existing clock display, time is visualised by a binary-inspired display system. Anew is looking forward to produce more products by repurposing these obsolete items that hold tremendous nostalgic value to us in the future and eventually develop into a market-ready product series. It also aims to inspire the maker community to think out of the box by repurposing something we have deserted as the technology advanced.
