Time Tricks #1: The Hammeryump (A Link to the Past) | Speedrun Tricks for the Everyday Player to Try
29Welcome to my new miniseries, "Time Tricks!" Here, you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to easily recreate some of the coolest looking speedrunning tricks to some of your favorite games!
Today's episode covers the "Hammeryump", a bomb jump in the "The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past" speedrun. This trick bypasses the dark maze left of the big chest, which contains the hammer. Without a key, you cannot enter that room, meaning you have to take a rather slow detour. The trick is extremely swaggy and cool, and not nearly as difficult to pull off as you might think!
This trick works in vanilla AND randomizer, as well as in every version of the game I can think of (I have NOT tested this on the GBA version). This includes both the Nintendo Switch AND the SNES Classic. Thanks for watching!
