Welcome to TIMESPACE, my Undertale "chapter-swap" AU that swaps areas and their corresponding characters with one another.
This replaces "Here We Are".
Commentary:
*True Lab swaps with the Emptiness*.
By the Emptiness is meant all the times - especially at the endings - where you're left in a blank void. When you talk to Chara, when you fight Flowey or Asriel. Both Gaster and Asriel have connections to both locations. The True Pacifist storyline continues with Monster Kid finding a mysterious door in the Starlight Sea that leads to a seemingly empty room.
Gaster swaps with Asriel.
The swap that essentially defines the AU. Because Gaster swaps with Asriel, that means the Vessel swaps with Flowey, and so there's that connection. And also, the New Home story NPCs swap with Gaster Followers.
Alphys swaps with Monster Kid.
Both of them are quasi-party-members throughout Waterfall and Hotland respectively, and so they switch places as Waterfall and Hotland do. But also, this ends up meaning that I've had to completely rewrite the true pacifist storyline...
Alphys (True Lab) swaps with Goner Kid.

Goner Kid is a separate character, so the Pacifist Route is more about solving a mystery than helping someone overcome guilt.
Amalgamates swap with Lost Souls.
In the Emptiness, you'll be fighting Lost Soul variations on various monsters you'd met previously. In the final Gaster battle, I'm reusing the idea of HELP_tale style "IT" variations of the main characters.
