Tinker Tailor Stalker Spy: #486 ( Tailor ) Bandit Kruglov Off-Line NPC Success
I'm not a Bandit. My name is not Kruglov. My job is to infiltrate whichever Factions that I choose, in order to investigate and track down the new prototype weapons and ammunition, that has entered the Zone. My first success with this has been when I joined the Bandit Faction. I am the Tailor.
Encrypted Diary: I had taken the Loner job of "Problem Solver" to kill a Monolith named Tolik Sawn-off. From the start, my target had always been in another location, well beyond where I wanted to go. I was simply going to wait until the target arrived in the same level as me, if I was going to go after them. When I checked my PDA, just after midnight, I suddenly realized Tolik Sawn-Off was at the smaller Jupiter Factory complex, directly south of the Concrete Bath anomaly.
I decided to wait where I was and see what his next move was. When Tolik Sawn-off started going north, then west across the concrete bridge, finally stopping at the Checkpoint, I knew it was time to go after him. I immediately took off after him. There were more Monolith when I got there, and I ended up playing cat and mouse with the last two Monolith.
* Game Note: This video is a great example of having an NPC target, that I just realized was in the same level as me, but as they were about to leave the level. That is why I made a manual save and then reloaded it, which can frequently get an NPC to reverse direction. However, this time I learned from my mistakes ( if the Dutyers had not been there, I would not have failed ) and stayed out of range, ensuring the Dutyers and Monolith remained off-line.
Notice how the Monolith off-line, walked right in front of the off-line Dutyers, and this time went west going over the same concrete bridge. Once the off-line Monolith arrived at the Checkpoint and appeared to be staying there, is when I felt it was safe to go after them. This time when I approached them and they went on-line, it was the perfect conditions to kill my target.
The loot wasn't as much in this video compared to the previous one, but it was more important to me to get the +50 points, once I returned to then Skadovsk. I was very glad I decided to try again and to be able to share this experience in both videos.
