My, my.. what an annoying game this is, let's see how well it does in each section.
STORY: 15/20
Between our world and the next (whatever that is) lies Titan Souls, the source of all living things. Throughout ruins of ancient temples and such there's artifacts protected by Titans. You take on the role of a girl? could be boy? not entirely sure to collect these artifacts to seek out Truth and Power.
GRAPHICS: 14/20
I really like the graphics, simple yet retro, really great looking. The area I played around in reminded me of the temple art of Sacsayhuaman in some really cool way. The character's look ain't so great, it looks a little too pixelated compared to everything else. The bosses look cool even though they are very generic in form.. a slime, a block, an ice cube, two fists, and such, not that impressive really.
SOUND: 12/20
I can't really go on too much on this as my progress didn't exactly go to plan. There's hardly no music for the title screen, it seems it's just a sound effect on a loop. The area's music that I was in (Act 1) was nice but I can see it getting old quick after all the dying, repeat, dying, repeat, and so on. The boss music is okay also, nothing to rave about but it does it's job by letting you know it's a boss battle. I heard few sound effect, shoot your bow, menu selecting, boss slams, hits, dying, all that were just not impressive enough for me to be fair.
GAMEPLAY: 5/20
Oh dear, whilst it starts as fun it quickly becomes a HATE thing, constant dying on bosses over and over until you learn patterns of attack, having 1 second to make split-second decisions, controls that well.. frankly suck donkey $^%£. When you roll out of the way you have a few seconds of delay before being able to use it again, this get's you killed all way to often. The crappy arrow mechanic.. one single arrow to shoot that you have to draw back to you by holding down a button, all whilst you are being chased by the enemy. Fair enough, you can just run over the arrow to pick it up but with monsters trying to squash you or eat you or slime you.. it's a tough task. Once you defeat the bosses you don't really get any gratification at all because chances are that you've died way too many times to even care.
SYSTEMS/MECHANICS: 5/20
Not much in here.. shoot weapon, pick it up, shoot again, pick it up, shoot, pick up, shoot, and repeat. Roll out the way to dodge that's crap because of the wait between rolls. A crappy shooting single arrow to use against HARD bosses that you have to hold down the button to draw the bow and then release to shoot the arrow off.. PATHETIC! There's a re-raise point so if you die it's not game over, you just go back to the save-point which I suppose is SOME grace.
OVER ALL: 51/100
Well, it's a really crap game, graphically it's nice but it's spoilt by how hard the devs have intentionally made the bosses and some even feel like they are there just to troll you. Do I recommend this game? at the price it is.. HELL NO! There's MUCH better games out there for that price. If you MUST play it then I suggest you wait until it is on sale or buy the key off some website that's selling it for much cheaper if you can't wait for a sale.
