Episode Rating: 9
Baxter has failed the Shredder too many times and because of it, he suffers a punishment far worse than anything. He is mutated into Stockman-Fly and is in need of a way to return back to normal. When he learns that Don has created retro-mutagen, he kidnaps April in hopes of using her as a bargaining chip so he can get the retro mutagen. Now it’s a fight to get the retro mutagen. Who will win?
Yeah. This is the episode where Baxter turns into a fly. But unlike the ’87 version where the DNA fused, this is via mutation. He is somewhat human but now carries fly like characteristics. He’s also scary since this also enhanced his senses to the point where he’s faster and tougher. If anything, this now only assures him that the only loyalty he has is to the Shredder. Ironic because out of all of Shredder’s minions, Baxter would be the one that would earn Shredder’s respect later in the series.
It’s truthfully a good episode with a lot of action, a lot of emotion and an ending that is anything but satisfying. In my opinion it’s great.
