TMNT Shredder's Revenge received a new DLC update a few days ago - Dimension Shellshock (for $7.99)! This brings two new playable characters into the game, the samurai rabbit Usagi Yojimbo, and Karai, a high ranking member of the Foot Clan. There's also a new survival mode, with new stages, power ups, and even the ability to play as the bosses, and new color palettes for every character.

Karai is pretty fun. She has fast movement speed, a great uppercut, and a great hold attack (the chain), but I feel like she does the lowest amount of damage in the game. Her evasion attack doesn't bounce off enemies, it travels through them a bit. Most of the other characters can use that to constantly reset their combo, which is great for heavy enemies and bosses, but all she can really do is follow it up with an uppercut. That's fine if it lifts the enemies into the air, but for something like bosses (eg. Super Shredder), it barely scratches them. Then again, maybe you can reset her combo by doing dash attacks? I don't think I ever tried that, and it just occurred to me while writing this out, lol. Either way it's not a big deal, it might just make her a bit worse than the rest of the cast. She's still more than capable of handling everything, and her moveset is fun to play with. I also appreciate her up+throw attack, which is an Izuna Drop instead of the alternating slams. It doesn't do a lot of damage, but at least it's cool.

I still haven't played the survival mode much. I'll try that out next, but I'm going on vacation to Japan tomorrow and won't even have access to this game for a couple weeks. I want to do a travel video when I get back, and then I'll keep working on all the games that are piling up.

Of course, I recommend the DLC to anyone who enjoyed the game before. New characters, modes, and colors for only 8 bucks? And an excuse to play more toitles? Hell yes.
