25Full Game/Mod longplay of Frostbite, a total conversion for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, set in the northern, frozen wastelands of Norway's Svalbard. First released in May 21, 2003. Now the final patch release is 1.3, on October 2010. This is the 1.3 english version. Note: russian version received some sort of fan dubbing, english version did not. Played via dgVoodoo at full 2560x1440 resolution, highest possible details, recorded at 1440p60 via OBS high quality H.265 codec.
Note 2: Yes, I've put Gothic game theme in the intro and outro to possibly avoid licensed music issue, but it turns out every single piece of soundtrack in this mod is copyrighted anyway, but I've noticed it too late. Sooo, sorry for that. xD
Frostbite is a complete mod, comparable in essence to Desert Siege and Island Thunder, expansions to Ghost Recon. This mod is standalone, that is, it does not use maps from other, official parts of Ghost Recon. This is the very first of the unofficial mods for Ghost Recon and at the same time, perhaps the best mod ever released for Ghost Recon.
The action takes place on Svalbard, so all the maps are snowy and the action mainly takes place in the mountains or their surroundings. There are 8 large maps in total, 5 multiplayer maps. The maps are made perfectly, the textures are of high quality. One reflection of the ice of the lake in the evening rays on one of the multiplayer maps is worth a lot. The company contains 8 missions, evenly developing incrementally towards the end of the game. The cards are quite varied. In addition to mountainous areas, you will be given the opportunity to visit a ship, Russian army camps, underground military bunkers, a radio tower and a military airfield, from which, in fact, after completing all operations, you will be returned to the base, which will be told in the video at the end of the game.
In addition to maps, there is a small set of new weapons. Basically, these are already quite common and for many familiar rifles of Western and American production. The choice of new weapons is not particularly large, but adds variety to the gameplay. All soldiers are dressed appropriately in white overalls to be less visible in the snow. The sniper is especially well drawn.
The missions are quite varied and interesting. There will be tasks both to neutralize the enemy and spy missions.
It can be seen right away that a lot of effort and time has been spent on creating this mod, and for good reason, since the mod turned out to be excellent and, perhaps, will satisfy all the needs of even the most demanding Ghost Recon player.
