This Video Review of Tom Clancy's the Division discusses an In-Depth Analysis across three separate categories: Presentation, Creativity, and Longevity. By the end of the video, a Final Score is determined.

PRESENTATION - The Division's environment is filled with an impressive amount of detail. Not only is the game visually stunning, the sound quality is also fantastic. Whether you're experiencing the sound effects of weapons or the awesome soundtrack, the developers over at Ubisoft did a wonderful job immersing the player in a very theatrical setting. Howver my favorite facet of this game might just be the "base of Operations." What starts off as a feeble safe-house eventually turns into a thriving ecosystem full of human character. Visual progression such as children being treated at the pediatric ward, or random civilians hanging up Christmas decorations, helps create an emotional connection between the player and the game itself.

CREATIVITY - The lack of character creation options at the beginning of the game acted somewhat like foreshadowing to what would eventually become moderate disappointment. I'm referring to the incredibly played out "Post-Apocalyptic" narrative that this game embraces. The sad thing is that The Division manages to create depth to this generic setting, but unfortunately forces the player to go digging for it themselves. The cinematic videos that are unlocked by completing the mains story missions would have been more effective if triggered by stumbling upon a "Named Boss" or by entering a specific location the correlates with the video itself. However, the main redeeming factor to this games setting is what's called "The Dark Zone." This quarantined center section of Manhattan pins players against each other in the hunt for better loot. The endless amounts of fun that come with an attempt to extract your loot via helicopter, somehow excused most of my negative tension towards the game.

LONGEVITY - The moment you hit level 30, an entirely new game opens up for the player to experience. At that point, the game centers around improving your desired gear and skills. Both of these aspects of the game are incredibly balanced and intricate. Multiple attributes on your loot items, as well as an extensive amount of depth to the skill tree system, helps make each player feel unique in contrast to another. However, I can see people taking issue with how repetitive the "End-game" is. Essentially, you're going to be killing the same named bosses over and over again for loot. Ubisoft has countered this complaint by installing a number of free software updates that include new missions (Incursions) and fun activities (Supply Drops). If you do happen to get tired of the "Farming" aspect of gathering loot, then i suggest you check out the daily side-mission or collectibles. Phone recordings, ecos, indecent reports, and more, help bring further depth to the setting. They all tell separate stories, but when combined together, help remind the player just how interesting Tom Clancy's The Division truly is.
