0I first came across Lara Croft in 1996. I saw the disc sitting on the desk while I was giving home tuition to a student. Intrigued, I borrowed it and found it to my liking. From then on, I've played every TR title.
Tomb Raider was rebooted in 2013, evolving with the times into a more realistic rendition of the character, along with better environmental graphics, combat and gameplay.
The old Lara Croft has her charms (I don't mean her boobs ) and I had a lot of fun playing the TR games. I prefer the realistic Lara Croft however.
The reboot while fun to play has an annoying gameplay feature and that is the QTE (quick time events). Naturally, Lara died a few times in the beginning while I tried to figure out what key the game wanted me to press.
I'm replaying the TR trilogy this year. This Tomb Raider PT would be my fifth or sixth. The game is on easy difficulty as I don't see the point of fighting damage absorbing sponges. What's the whole point of doing that? Even so, shooting the mobs straight in their faces didn't kill them immediately which is hardly realistic. I imagine were the setting on hardest difficulty, it would take 10 bullets or more to kill them each even if they were getting shot in the face. 🤣
I would play on the hardest difficulty if I'm motivated. Example; if I could survive waves of attacks. If the combat and mobs are interesting and challenging, I will do so. I did this for the Object Rho sequence in Mass Effect 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn.
