As it turns out, the reason behind the desert freezing was because of Bowser stealing a treasure called the "Binding Ring" for his wedding and in doing so, enraged a ancient statue which was guarding it, thus causing it freeze over the Sand Kingdom. Thankfully, Mario and Cappy was able to stop it and put things back to normal, now they prepare to head for the next kingdom, but not before doing some last minute exploring.
