After thinking about this for a long time, I've narrowed down my top 5 scariest moments in video games. It's about as spoiler-free as possible.

While these all might seem like odd choices, these are the 5 that have effected me more than any others through my years of playing, in spite of my jaded and cynical view that makes me harder to scare.

I didn't count any Oculus Rift / Virtual Reality games in this list and tried to focus more on scripted events than randomization.

#5 made me feel vulnerable (which was/is rare in games).

#4 gave me an immense feeling of dread.

#3 made my heart race as I panicked.

#2 shocked me and made me paranoid.

#1 made me feel a mixture of them all.
