Probably one of the most often seen mechanics in board gaming, worker placement involves using pieces/dice/etc., to indicate an action and/or activity a player will take. They can be very complex, and it's taken a long time for me to like them more, but they're very popular and have their zealots!

Worker placement games are a time-honored staple of Euro-style gaming - enables highly varied strategies, often doesn't involve directly attacking or otherwise "harming" other players, gives lots of replayability, often is based around points = winning systems, and more. They can take getting used to, as there are often TOO many choices for a new player to wrap their head around, not to mention there are frequently other mechanics included alongside, as well.

As always, please let me know what you think! As I mentioned, worker placement really is one of the hobby gaming tentpoles, and has a MASSIVE breadth of themes, styles, aesthetics, and more built around it. What're your favorites and why? OR, are you not a fan of the mechanic? If not, why?
