Top Gear 2 Game Sample - Genesis

You know, a lot of people I've talked with in gaming circles over the years didn't even know a Top Gear game was made for the Sega Genesis. I can't blame them though... it's kinda strange that they only ever released Top Gear 2 from my understanding (Not the first or 3000) and it seems to have only been released in the U.S., though not much information exists for this version, so correct me if I'm wrong.
Pretty good Top Gear port. While the Genesis sorta had its own Top Gear in the form of "Lotus" (Lotus II and Lotus Turbo Challenge, which was by the same developer as Top Gear 2 and 3000, etc.), they didn't have the same name recognition as Top Gear and weren't quite on par playability-wise. It's not exactly as good as the SNES Top Gear 2, but it's a good substitute if you don't own an SNES.
The basic flow of the game is to win races, earn points, and gain cash to upgrade your car for more advanced races. Top Gear was a pretty good racer in and of itself, but it had more personality than the competiton of the time due to the attitude it presented. Yelling at racers ahead of you or taunting them as they eat your dust helps bring out the foul-mouthed persona in us all. I just find it strange how this game can't have music AND sound effects at the same time.
