Total War Has a Massive Problem
What is happening with Total War games? In my opinion, it's been way too long since we saw true innovation in the historical Total War space. The Warhammer games have innovated in terms of monsters, scale, and what's possible in terms of fantasy, but little has been done to actually move the series further in terms of depth, namely for the historical part of the games. I am a historical fan first, and it saddens me that we have had no new true historical Total War game since Attila in 2015. For the next game, I hope we see some true innovation, the likes of what we saw in the period between 2009-2021, which is the subject of this video, an era in Total War I call the Second Golden Age - despite its flaws.
