Touhou 12.8 - first Extra clear
0Finally. This is the most difficult Windows Extra stage by far, and the only one in my opinion that's more difficult than the corresponding Hard 1cc. (That is, of the Windows games. All 3 PC-98 Extra stages are more difficult than their Hard 1ccs in my opinion.)
After various attempts that failed on one of her last two cards, I finally completed it... and with 3 lives remaining as well. (I think it could have been 4 if I'd bombed earlier in the all-fire phase, though...)
No deaths on the stage portion (I'd restart after two deaths, but not after one), and a rare capture of both Master Spark Style Flashlight and Super Perseid. A lot of random deaths, but it's not like dying with bombs remaining is an issue in this game, unless your bomb counter maxes out at 300% during or after that death.
I really don't know why some people stop shooting on the timeout card by the way. Shooting Marisa while she's invincible still charges up your ice meter (and gives you the steady trickle of "motivation" percent) after all.
I also really don't know how I managed to need a bomb on that easy phase at 4:00.

My solution to the Touhou 12.8 recorder slowdown issue if anyone's interested: Reduce the recording quality.
