I thought active cards were the broken ones but the Centipede card made me understand why it is unlocked after the extra stage.

Stage 3 can cause some issues as the Centipede card hasn't accumulated enough power to melt Sannyo's cards. The middle of Stage 4 is still absolute hell and Misumaru's first and last cards can kill you before you kill her. Stage 5 is relatively tame but Megumu's 2nd non and 2nd spell can wall you in. Stage 6 is fine aside from Chimata's 3rd non and her penultimate which are very fast.
