Touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil - Stage 1 (No Commentary)

Ah now starting out with the windows games and time for a huge leap in quality (and also time for me to stop adding annotation translations YES!). Game play wise everything's still similar to Touhou 5 only play difference being if you move near the top of the screen at max power you now collect all the items on the screen. However the biggest difference is the introduction of the spell card system giving all bosses specifically themed attacks along with a lot more attacks as well, for example between cool down attacks and her spell cards Rumia has four attacks as opposed to Sara's three. While admittedly not a big difference now that difference grows dramatically as the game progresses.
Character choices are similar to Touhou 4 being you can choose either Reimu or Marisa with both of them having two different attacks so up to four different play styles. Marisa's Illusion Laser behaves just as it did back in Touhou 4 (and behaves just as amazingly) while her Magic Missile behaves just as it did in Touhou 5 (and just as shoddily). Reimu's Homing Amulet acts like it always has since Touhou 2 however the new move brought in is her Persuasion Needle which is actually pretty good giving her power close to that of Marisa. In practice it acts similar in spirit to Reimu-C from back in Touhou 2. In the end though it feels like Reimu pretending to be Marisa though, which in the end I'll just play as Marisa thank you.
The stage itself is nothing special. Zip around, blast enemies, collect [P]
Rumia as a mid boss can be a little tricky because she doesn't stay for too long forcing you to move aggressively. If you time out the attack she just leaves without giving you anything.
Rumia herself doesn't do anything that really warrants mention just move slowly and don't do anything foolish. Her last spell can get tricky but as long as you leave yourself room to dodge you'll be alright.
