It took some practicing, but here's the extra stage. The mechanic doesn't really matter in this stage, just hold down shot and everything gets cancelled.


You really want to capture the midboss's spellcards, because you miss out on lots of extra resources if you don't (if you capture all three, you get 1 more life and 2 more bombs than if you didn't capture any). Because of the plot (Inori is coming to give you help), you can't actually get hurt during the midboss, but you'll want the resources.
