Ah touhou, all began with me watching fumo videos then I fell down the rabbit hole. Anyways I made a promise that I at least wanted to 1cc one touhou game and folks told me EoSD is the easiest one to 1cc so I went with it.

I'm not really a huge fan of bullet hell games, I only did this for my love of the franchise. Anyways on to EoSD, plot is a mysterious red mist has suddenly filled gensokyo so Reimu and Marisa set out to find the source which leads them to the Scarlet Devil Mansion.

I don't really have much to go on with the controls, you move around, shoot and avoid the bullets. I can only give advice if ya'll want to try and do a 1cc as well.

You can switch between Reimu A and Marisa B.

Reimu A has good homing bullets but her bomb is average. Her bullets are quite strong too so be sure to shotgun the bosses when you pull off a bomb.

Marisa A works too because magic missile can kill bosses pretty quickly (just bomb and shotgun.) But I highly recommend sticking with Marisa B, purely because Master Spark is a the one thing that can save you from troublesome spell cards. Master Spark can pretty much eat a spell card, which is helpful if you find the pattern to be too hard (plus the game has RNG.)

As for difficulty it starts off fair in the first 2 stages, reaching meiling is where it starts to bully the player a lot. Patchy is also troublesome, her spells will vary depending on if you picked character A or B. Sakuya, she's manageable, it's her the stage that can kill you if you're not careful. Final stage isn't so bad, if you have 3 lives with you then you're all set.

The music is really good, my personal faves is Meiling's theme, Sakuya's original theme, and lastly is Remi's theme.
Seriously, Septette for a Dead Princess hits really hard.

If you love bullet hell games, then yes give EoSD a try. It's pretty short and the game is kind enough to let you practice stages too so you don't have to do it arcade style.

The best part is if you pull of a 1cc (or not use continues) the game will save your replay. HOWEVER, I was told that if you pause during dialouge or pause the game and press Z, you're replay will desync.
