Disclaimer: This is my personal break-down on characters based on information gathered from other players and my own experience. This is not a strict guide, and should be taken as yet another insight and suggestion.

The second banner of the seemingly never-ending 1st Anniversary of LostWord EN, Reisen the Space Youkai has the reputation of being the first venture of LostWord into the Defender, both as an Ultra Festival and the return of the mostly neglected archetype whose final release was Keine. Owing to the fact that she is characterised as a Defender, Reisen has an uncanny tendency to outlast the majority of her adversaries while still being able to dish out a respectable amount of damage. However, the rabbit also has many more tricks up her sleeves, making her a deceptively versatile unit with a bias toward a defensive playstyle.

For normal gameplay, Reisen has a decent deal of Killer bullets in the form of Human, Soul and Youkai along with a lesser amount of bullets having Capital, Lunar Capital, Lunar Base, Lunarian and Moon Rabbit killer, which comprise most of the current cast with only a few exceptions. This allows her to breeze through most events, old and new, with little to no resistance. Her absurd level of tankiness also lets her shrug off all but the most powerful attacks, increasing her chance of survival for a full-auto first clear while her plethora of Hard bullets permit her to utilise the potential defensive stats to boost her damage.

For CQs, though, Reisen becomes the star of the show. First of all, her uncanny survivability allows her to laugh in the face of dangers, a feat made possible thanks to her high defensive stats, her immunity to elemental breaks, her ability to recover HP with attacks, a barrier regeneration passive and a damage reduction passive when she has 100% HP (made possible thanks to her self-recovery which allows her to tank the first hit most of the time). This, coupled with her Focus up, allows her to tank all the damage for her teammates, shielding them from devastating blows. Moreover, if being tanky by herself isn’t enough, she can boster her allies’ defensive stats using her 1st and 3rd skills along with her 2nd and 4th spells, while her 1st and 3rd spells proactively lowers her adversaries’ Yin ATK as well as increases her comrades’ evasion. If that is not enough, her 2nd and 4th spells also apply Blind anomaly on every target, which lowers the damage output from her enemies by another margin. It’s also worth noting that at sufficient amount of Boosts, her 1st and 3rd spells, along with her Last Word, can also break Blind anomaly, thus granting her the ability to deal a bit of anomaly breaks; an ability that can be utilised in tandem with units that can cast Blind like Rumia. And speaking of breaking, the Youkai excels at Star breaking with a decent amount of Moon breaks at her disposal. Thanks to these, Reisen is excellent at Star-based CQs with Star EX and Marisa Conflux EX come to mind, especially the former where she is considered to be the core of the battle.

That being said, she is not totally immune to anomaly; only Poison and Burn which makes her susceptible to Blind, Freeze and, most dangerously, Paralysis. Moreover, it’s important to keep her HP at 100% for her passive to kick in, a feat that is more or less impossible when she is against multiple strong enemies which can mean her untimely demise due to not being able to fend off the onslaught. Not to mention that while stacking up Focus will reduce incoming damage from AoE attacks on her allies, it also amplifies the damage the Youkai receives by a wide margin which can lead to her sudden expiration, forcing her to use barriers to mitigate the offensive. Finally, while tanky, she is still susceptible to locks, something that appears more and more frequently in the game as of late which can critically cripple her tankiness; most of which comes from her skills and spells.

In conclusion, Reisen the Youkai brings a new and uncanny playstyle into the game, being able to outlast all but the most powerful adversaries while still being able to utilise her inhumanely high defensive stats to boost her damage potential. While it’s true that Sun Tzu once said “The best defence is a good offence”, being able to play defensively on the offence is still the better idea; one that the Youkai took it literally. She excels at both normal and CQ play while her unholy resilience and endurance permit some meme plays where she deliberately outlasts everyone in the fight.

For active effect: Midnight Tea or Witch of Scarlet Dream, Touhou LostWord or Secret Sealing Club Girls (spell card), Occult Circle or Secret Sealing Club Girls (Last Word).

For stats: Puppeteer and Necromancer, Bloody Order, Dropping Keystone, Bonds of Blood,... basically, Yin ATK with Yin DEF if possible.
