2What I'm doing currently is titled as my own "Black's Challenge":

BLACK'S CHALLENGE:
1: Get 5 people to say a number between 5 and 10.
2: Get the list of Touhou characters, a random chooser and place the combined number in. (In my case, 42)
3: The last number will be your starter, and the next five will be the characters you can get.
4: You can NOT capture any other puppets, just the ones listed.
5: The characters on the number list, except for the ones chosen for MAIN, Slot 1, Slot 2, Slot 3, Slot 4 and Final Slot, can not be in your game.
6: You can only use your other characters in case of a backup plan. (aka, if your starter is dead)
7: Good luck getting through with the game and have fun!
Note: Can be applied to Pokémon games as well.
