Soldiers from the King's Royal Hussars have marched through the streets of Winchester to celebrate their safe return from Afghanistan.

Led out by the Band of the Rifles, 300 soldiers began their parade at Winchester's Great Hall.

Commanding Officer Lt Col Alex Potts said it was a great honour to march through the town.

The KRH deployed to Afghanistan in March. Based in Lashkar Gar - the first district to transition to Afghan control - the Regiment played a vital role in supporting this process.

During their seven months in Afghanistan the KRH did not suffer any losses and the parade ended with a service of thanksgiving in Winchester Cathedral.
