Frontline soldiers mark St Andrews Day 03.12.12
Troops from the 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland and their guests have celebrated St Andrews Day in Afghanistan.
More than 60 personnel were treated to a feast with traditional haggis, neeps and tatties.
The toast to St Andrew, which is usually given with whiskey, instead used another Scottish drink, Irn Bru. Guests were also treated to several performances by the battalion's Pipes and Drums.
The battalion are currently deployed as the Brigade Advisory Group, mentoring the Afghan National Security Forces.
Meanwhile, not to be outdone, the 1st Battalion Scots Guards also celebrated their national day at Forward Operating Base Ouellette in Helmand.
Amongst the games celebrating St Andrew was a wellie throw and a rowing competition simulating the distance to the Isle of Skye.
The Scots Guards are busy supporting the Afghan National Security Forces in keeping Highway 611 open - a key route which connects the main towns of Sangin and Gereshk.
