Toxie Radd encompasses the perspective of a top-down shooter, where players hold out against acid spitting zombies, and humans who've come to exterminate you.
Defeating the game's bosses unlocks new abilities, and players can use experience gained throughout each round to upgrade the capabilities of their character and it's weapons. Nanotec vials are needed for each upgrade, and they're found placed throughout each of the game's stages.
There's an electrocution gun, shotgun, and flame thrower, among other powerful weapons to choose from. The weapons in this game start out fairly weak, so you want to conserve your grenades for use against end stage bosses, at least in the beginning of the game.
