Trails from Zero/Trails to Azure Switch Ports FINALLY Announced for Japan
I was scrolling through my YouTube feed this morning, and I found out that the Crossbell Duology was finally getting released for Nintendo Switch in Japan.
Three years ago, Nihon Falcom has re-released the Crossbell Duology (consisting of the games Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure) for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. This would later see Clouded Leopard Entertainment release their own Switch port for the South Korean and Taiwanese markets, as well as NIS America securing the rights for the PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch in the West.
Durante of PH3 Games worked on the PC and Switch ports for the West, but the Western PS4 version did not receive any enhancements Durante added to the Windows and Switch Ports. This has led to a lot of public outcry, as people had to double dip on getting the PS4 version for the Mass Sepith Bonus for the PS4 release of Reverie due for 2023-07-07, and the Switch version to enjoy Durante's enhancements. I didn't think of getting the NISA PS4 port of Trails from Zero until I found a copy of it at the Funan mall in Singapore.
After three long years of not having Switch ports, the Japanese gaming market is finally getting Switch ports for the Crossbell Duology, due for 2023-08-31. The rights for the Switch ports of Zero/Azure in Japan were secured by Nippon Ichi Software, NISA's parent company.
